COVID-19 Update (as of January 10, 2022)
Sunday morning worship begins at 9:30 a.m. and all the public is welcome to participate.
The Reopening Committee met Sunday to determine our way forward in light of the increased Covid positivity rate. We decided that it is important to keep our church open during this time with the following recommendations:
- Masks and social distancing are very strongly recommended during worship and whenever you are in the church building, even if you are vaccinated.
- As much as possible, committees and small groups are encouraged to meet via Zoom. If meeting in person, masks and social distancing are very strongly recommended.
- If you are ill or have been exposed to Covid, we request that you stay home and worship via Facebook or the radio broadcast.
- Our music director, Steve Grattan, has suspended the music programs for the remainder of January as social distancing is difficult in the choral and bell programs.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate the realities of this pandemic.
We end this letter with the words Bishop David Bard sent to the churches of the Michigan Conference.
“Friends, I continue to believe that by God’s grace, we can muster the resilience, kindness, and determination to do what needs to be done to navigate this pandemic. As followers of Jesus, we can and should lead in promoting public health, furthering the common good, and caring for the well-being of others. When we act out of love for neighbor and care for our community, we offer a powerful witness to the grace of God in Jesus Christ. We allow the light of epiphany to shine more brightly in our world.”
