I Appreciate Your Feedback

I Appreciate Your Feedback

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

I feel like I would be avoiding the proverbial elephant in the room if I didn’t use this opportunity to briefly respond to the feedback I received in regard to my March Tower Chimes article (“Post-Impeachment Reflection”). One thing is for sure, in my 28 years of writing newsletter articles, nothing ever aroused a response – both positive and negative – like that one. If ever I wondered whether or not people read what I write, there’s no wondering anymore!

First and foremost, I want you to know how much I appreciate the honest and sincere feedback you shared with me, both supportive and critical. Whether it was a phone call, letter, email, or an on-the-spot verbal reply, I’m truly grateful that many of you were willing to share your honest feelings and reactions to what I wrote. For many of us, openly telling someone with whom we haven’t yet built a relationship of trust that we disagree with them, or are angered by something they wrote or said, is terribly difficult. And so I want to thank you for taking a chance on me, and for exhibiting the courage to say something, not knowing how I would respond. Please know that I’ve taken everything you shared with me to heart.

My hope is that as we get to know each other better, you will also come to know my pastoral heart, that my primary desire is that all of us, including myself, continually grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and our trust in God above all. And when the pathway become a little bumpy from time to time, we’ll walk it together in love.
